How to paint polysterene mouldings

Installation of the ceiling mouldings is one the final finishing stages.

If your mouldings are to be coloured to match the overall interior look, we suggest pre-painting them and installing after the walls have been finished and covered.

If you choose to coat mouldings after installation, allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive to set properly.

Glanzepol mouldings feature a very high density which enables coating without primer. Having said that, for best finish we recommend priming them prior to coating. Make sure primer is solvent-free and avoid splashing the solvent-based plaster primer onto the mouldings during walls and ceiling finishing.

Choose only water-based (solvent-free) paints for your polystyrene interior décor as solvents will damage the material. Latex and acrylic paints are a perfect choice. Today’s paints industry offers a wide range of color solutions for any painting technique: patinas, bronze, malachite, wood or metal effect etc.

Applying varnish over paint helps to accentuate pattern with both color and sheen.

Apart from enhancing the total interior look, coating reinforces the mouldings’ surface, prevents from dents and indentation marks.
